HEART OF THE PARK SHOWCASE As Chairman of the Great Park, I would like to invite you to the Heart of the Park Showcase on Tuesday, September 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This critical component of the Framework Plan will include world-class amenities like the amphitheater, Grand Promenade, Great Meadow, Full Circle Farm, north and south lakes, and Timeline Bridge. SAN JOAQUIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY The San Joaquin Marsh has the perfect trails for your next nature walk. Join Sea and Sage Audubon Society's monthly bird walk around the quiet ponds of the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. Their next bird walk is this Sunday, September 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This beautiful habitat contains 300 acres of coastal wetlands and is home to many local wildlife, including over 200 species of birds. MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL
Join us at the Great Park as we partner with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center for the fourth annual Mid-Autumn Festival! Also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, this is a special tradition celebrated in Chinese culture and dates back over 3,000 years. At this year’s event, guests can enjoy a fun and unique atmosphere with live performances, cultural exhibits, delicious entrees and treats, and engaging children’s activities. Mark your calendar for Friday, September 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages. For more information about this event, click here.


ACHIEVEMENT OF EXCELLENCE AWARD I am pleased to share the City’s Administrative Services Department has received the prestigious annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. for the 19th consecutive year. QUAIL HILL COMMUNITY CENTER The Quail Hill Community Center has many great features that are open to the public! Stop by to cool down after exploring the surrounding trails and parks nearby. They offer many classes and activities for all ages with a multipurpose room that can hold over 200 people.
