Citizens Academy Graduation Congratulations to our Spring 2024 Citizens Academy graduates! I always appreciate the opportunity to talk to residents about our great City. Over the past few weeks, we toured the Irvine Police Department and the Irvine Animal Care Center, as well as learned about City Departments including the City Manager’s Office, City Clerk, Public Works, and Community Services. We saw how each department works together to enhance the quality of life in Irvine. Providing residents with the opportunity to learn more about the City of Irvine brings me great joy, and I enjoyed getting to know this amazing group. Thank you to all who participated! Be on the lookout for how you can enroll to learn about your City in our Summer Session coming soon. To learn more about the experiences of past graduates, click here.

Memorial Is Launched It was an honor to stand with the Orange County Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee for the dedication of the Armenian Genocide Memorial at the Great Park. I am grateful for all who contributed to making this idea a reality. I want to give special thanks to Kev Abazajian and Garo Madenlian for their leadership and insight on this project. We will soon create a permanent tribute to serve as a remembrance for the Armenian community for generations to come. Thank you to all who attended the Memorial dedication. I look forward to seeing how these plans progress. For more information about the Armenian Genocide Memorial, click here.

Crime Survivors 5K Run/Walk I want to extend my deepest thanks to Patricia, CEO and Founder of Crime Survivors Resource Center for hosting the Orange County Superhero 5K Run/Walk, Health & Safety Expo at Mason Regional Park! This event brought the community together to raise awareness about support services available for crime victims. We are so blessed to have organizations like Crime Survivors Resource Center that serve as a strong voice for justice in our community. Thank you to all of the sponsors and everyone who participated in the event. For more information about Crime Survivors, click here.
