January 12, 2024 Edition
Thank you to all our 2023 Citizens Academy participants! I am so proud of their commitment to learn more about how our local government functions. We explored numerous departments and heard from important City officials who shared about the roles and functions of City Hall. Our inaugural class could not have been a better and more engaging group to work with. I am honored to have helped facilitate this program and share with them about my own experience serving in this incredible City and community. We are excited to continue the program in 2024 and will share with you when sign ups are available for the next class.
Visit the new Art at City Hall exhibition, Paul Gardner: A Retrospective. This exhibit celebrates the contributions and work of the late Paul Gardner, a visionary artist who had a profound impact in cultivating the local art scene in Orange County. He contributed to the cultural landscape of Irvine by teaching painting at the Irvine Fine Arts Center for over 20 years. A Retrospective showcases the deep connection Gardner had with his surroundings and demonstrates his unique blend of intuition and improvisation, inviting audiences to embark on an imaginative journey alongside him.
